A bit of history

During the 90s, Arezzo went through a flourishing period for the Mod scene, ending up alongside Turin and Teramo as one of the epicenters of the Italian scene, also cited on Wikipedia.

We like to think, however, that the history of Arezzo modernism begins well before.

It is a tale that goes from Gaio Clinio Mecenate, an important artistic protector who lived in the Before-Christ Sixties, to Arezzo Wave Love Festival, one of the largest free independent European festivals of the After-Christ Nineties.

In Arezzo, Guido Monaco invented the modern pentagram (1013 BC c.ca) and Assuero Verdelli published several niche library productions (1969 AC c.ca).

Although far from the mass circuits, Solid Groove Club has been a staple in the city for almost ten years, a "Club" that has built an exclusive aesthetic by embracing transversal sounds to the golden ages.

Solid Groove Club Arezzo was officially born 10 years ago by bringing together Elena Annibali and Andrea Panozzi.

Elena was coming from FM Radio and Big Festival organization environments, while Andrea was a young prodige of the European Mod Scene.

In common, they had a precise aesthetic opinion, focused on the continuous search for Afro-American and Italians sounds of the 60s and 70s, which, for them, had a lot to share: vibes, vision, drives.

The two characters are often joined in the city by other collectors, especially by beloved Luigi Slim Fiore, resident in Rome Dance with the Devil, maybe one of the best active European clubs.
